The Lakshadweep administration has launched a series of dynamic welfare initiatives in the final week of June, aimed at transforming the economic status of local women.
By providing targeted skill development and robust financial support, the administration is encouraging local Self-Help Groups (SHGs) to expand their presence in critical sectors like food processing, organic handicrafts, fisheries, and sustainable tourism. These newly rolled-out programs focus heavily on improving digital literacy, financial independence, and market access, successfully paving the way for sustainable employment and empowering women to take on leading roles in community-driven island development.
