“Van Mahotsav Week,” India’s annual “Festival of Forests,” has officially commenced across Manipur, sparking widespread environmental action. In Tamenglong, the event kicked off with massive tree plantation drives under the national campaign “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 3.0.”
This initiative is more than just a ceremonial planting; it is a strategic effort to promote long-term environmental conservation and mitigate the region’s increasing vulnerability to landslides. By engaging communities in this reforestation effort, the state aims to restore ecological balance, improve soil stability, and ensure a greener, safer future for all citizens of the region.
