The Central Government has approved a ₹15,431 crore expansion project for National Highway-15 in Assam, marking a major investment in the state’s transport infrastructure. The highway upgrade aims to improve road capacity, reduce travel time, and strengthen connectivity between key commercial centers across Assam and the Northeast.
The project is expected to boost freight movement, enhance logistics efficiency, and lower transportation costs for businesses. Improved highway infrastructure will support trade, attract new investments, facilitate industrial growth, and strengthen regional economic integration, benefiting sectors such as manufacturing, agriculture, and commerce.
