Goa continues to promote fisheries and the blue economy in 2026 through measures aimed at sustainable marine resource management, improved fishing infrastructure, and greater support for coastal communities. The state is encouraging modernization of fishing harbours, adoption of responsible fishing practices, and value addition through seafood processing and cold-chain facilities.
Efforts are also focused on enhancing fishermen’s livelihoods, conserving marine biodiversity, and expanding opportunities in aquaculture, marine tourism, and related industries. These initiatives are expected to contribute to economic growth while ensuring the long-term sustainability of Goa’s coastal and marine ecosystems.
