Himachal Pradesh continues to strengthen its apple and horticulture sector through initiatives that improve productivity, farmer incomes, and market access. The state is promoting high-density apple plantations, expanding controlled-atmosphere (CA) storage facilities, and supporting modern grading and packaging infrastructure.
Farmers are also benefiting from crop insurance, irrigation improvements, and technical guidance on climate-resilient cultivation practices. Alongside apples, the government is encouraging the production of fruits such as kiwis, cherries, and stone fruits, reinforcing horticulture as a key driver of rural livelihoods and the state’s agricultural economy.
