Mumbai, Aug. 6: Indian benchmark equity indices opened higher on Thursday as investor sentiment strengthened amid optimism over potential peace developments in the Middle East and a robust corporate earnings season. The BSE Sensex rose 0.26 percent to 78,782.43, while the NSE Nifty 50 gained 0.07 percent to 24,641 in early trade. Investor confidence was also supported by Brent crude prices remaining below 80 dollars per barrel and expectations of stable economic conditions. Analysts said market participants will continue tracking global geopolitical developments, corporate earnings, and economic indicators for further direction during the trading session.
