The Tamil Nadu government has officially unveiled a lucrative new subsidy scheme aimed at aggressively promoting green technology and electric vehicle manufacturing within the state. By offering substantial tax exemptions and capital subsidies to global automobile giants, the administration hopes to cement Chennai’s position as the electric vehicle capital of South Asia.
The sweeping policy also includes financial incentives for setting up advanced battery recycling plants and high-speed public charging networks across major tier-two cities. Industrial experts heavily predict that this strategic economic move will generate thousands of high-tech jobs and drastically reduce regional vehicular carbon footprints.
