Meghalaya is doubling down on its youth-led economy with the nationwide rollout of the Skillerate 2026 initiative.
Following the recent launch by CM Conrad Sangma, the state is actively distributing specialized toolkits to over 21,000 trainees in sectors like tourism and technical services.
Programs like PROPEL and MEGASKILL are designed to transition youth from classroom learning to international competition and entrepreneurship. With nearly 74% of the population under 35, the government’s ₹80 crore investment aims to curb migration by creating high-value local livelihoods.
