Tripura has entered a major transport era by achieving 100% electrification across its 271-kilometre railway corridor, stretching from Churaibari to Sabroom.
Carried out by the Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL), this mega infrastructure upgrade is fully complete. The Northeast Frontier Railway has completed multiple successful test runs and announced that Mainline Electric Multiple Unit (MEMU) services will officially launch by June.
This shift from diesel to electric will radically cut emissions, lower commuting costs, and provide faster, eco-friendly transit for daily passengers.
