The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a severe weather warning for Uttarakhand, forecasting heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning across the state, including Dehradun, Tehri, Nainital, and Bageshwar.
This sudden shift in weather brings relief after intense heatwave conditions recently caused massive tourist congestion and severe traffic jams, particularly in hill stations like Nainital. However, the heavy downpour has already led to minor waterlogging in Haridwar and surrounding areas. Residents and tourists are advised to stay vigilant and exercise caution during this period.
