Following a troubling series of reported safety failures and untimely patient deaths at various private rehabilitation facilities, the Odisha government has initiated a widespread crackdown across the state. In response, the health and social welfare departments are actively collaborative to frame a strict, mandatory Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to govern all operational de-addiction centres. District administrations have been officially ordered to gather exhaustive data on every existing facility.
This urgent regulatory intervention aims to tightly enforce critical safety protocols, eliminate malpractice, protect vulnerable individuals, and guarantee high-quality patient care standards moving forward.
