Goa is set to revolutionize its transport landscape as the central government fast-tracks the Kochi-style Water Metro project into Phase 1. Following a comprehensive feasibility report by Kochi Metro Rail Limited, an ambitious 111-kilometer network has been finalized.
Spanning eight viable routes—including major corridors like Panaji–Old Goa and Vasco–Cortalim—the project will deploy 87 state-of-the-art, eco-friendly vessels. This sustainable maritime initiative aims to seamlessly blend local commuting with scenic tourism, drastically reducing road congestion while preserving Goa’s unique coastal ecosystem for a greener future.
