The 400-year-old Muzhiyankulam, also known as the Poornankuppam Agriculture Pond, has been beautifully transformed through a major restoration initiative. This 1.5-acre historic waterbody, long vital to local agriculture, recently underwent extensive desilting to restore its natural capacity.

Beyond functional improvements, the project integrated modern infrastructure, including enhanced inlet and outlet systems and scenic walkways for the community. By blending heritage conservation with sustainable water management, this initiative ensures the pond remains a lifeline for the region, boosting local water sustainability and protecting the area’s environmental integrity for future generations.
