Tamil Nadu is enhancing coastal security and marine conservation through coordinated efforts involving coastal surveillance, sustainable fisheries management, and ecosystem protection. The state is strengthening coordination among security agencies, expanding coastal monitoring infrastructure, and promoting the safety of fishing communities.
Simultaneously, conservation initiatives are focused on protecting mangroves, coral reefs, sea turtle nesting sites, and other marine biodiversity while addressing challenges such as coastal erosion, marine pollution, and climate change. These measures aim to safeguard coastal livelihoods, preserve marine ecosystems, and support the sustainable development of Tamil Nadu’s extensive coastline.
