India’s Goods and Services Tax (GST) collections increased 13.9% year-on-year to ₹1.94 lakh crore in June, reflecting strong economic activity, improved tax compliance, and healthy business performance across the country. The robust revenue growth is expected to strengthen government finances and enable greater investment in public infrastructure and development initiatives.
For Meghalaya, higher government revenues could support increased spending on roads, connectivity, tourism infrastructure, public services, and rural development. These investments are expected to improve the business environment, encourage private investment, and contribute to the state’s long-term economic growth.
