Patna: To drastically cut down carbon emissions and save an estimated 10 crore liters of fuel annually by 2030, the Bihar cabinet has approved the “Bihar Electric Vehicle (Amendment) Policy, 2026.”
Backed by a ₹110 crore allocation for the upcoming fiscal year, the policy offers major financial incentives. Women purchasing electric cars will receive a direct subsidy of ₹1 lakh, while electric two-wheeler buyers get up to ₹12,000. All registered EVs will also enjoy a 50% exemption on motor vehicle tax to push EV adoption to 30%.
