In a significant administrative breakthrough for the state’s water security, Sikkim has officially been inducted as a full-fledged member of the Brahmaputra Board.
Representing the state at the 14th High-Powered Review Board meeting under the Ministry of Jal Shakti in Guwahati, Minister Ven.
Sonam Lama expressed gratitude for this historic inclusion. With permanent membership alongside West Bengal, Sikkim gains a direct, powerful voice in regional planning, allowing the state to fast-track crucial funding for heavy flood control, soil erosion management, and sustainable hydroelectric infrastructure.
