The Punjab Government has initiated a pioneering, large-scale menstrual health education drive across state-run government schools. Targeting over 3.4 lakh adolescent girls from Classes VI to X, the program rolls out a specially designed “Menstrual Hygiene Curriculum” in 3,600 high and senior secondary schools in all 23 districts.

This initiative, part of the “Period Friendly Punjab” campaign, aims to break deep-rooted taboos and create stigma-free learning environments. Developed in Punjabi, the curriculum uses interactive storytelling and games to make information accessible, with over 7,200 trained teachers delivering sessions.
