The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an urgent Red Alert for five districts in Kerala for tomorrow, June 6, warning residents of extremely heavy rainfall. The affected districts include Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki, Malappuram, and Kozhikode, where isolated areas could receive over 20 cm of rain within 24 hours.

This intense deluge significantly increases the risk of flash floods, landslides, and widespread waterlogging. Authorities have advised the public to exercise the highest vigilance, avoid unnecessary travel, and relocate from vulnerable low-lying or hilly areas immediately. Emergency response teams are on high alert.
