The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued critical weather warnings for Lakshadweep as heavy monsoons lash the archipelago. Orange and yellow alerts are active for the next two days, forecasting heavy to very heavy rainfall.
Residents are advised to prepare for significant weather disruption, including thunderstorms, frequent lightning, and dangerous gusty winds reaching speeds of 50-60 kmph. The intense conditions, typical of the southwest monsoon, are creating rough seas. The administration urges caution as the islands brace for impact.
