Growing resentment in North Garo Hills has culminated in a formal protest against the Meghalaya Power Distribution Corporation Limited (MePDCL).
The Achik Youth Society alongside the Apex Students Pioneer Forum (ASPF) has officially submitted a grievance petition to the local Sub-Divisional Officer in Kharkutta. Activists highlight that unpredictable, frequent power failures are severely crippling local administration, causing financial distress to small business owners, and severely hindering students preparing for exams. The organizations are demanding an immediate, transparent investigation and a swift resolution to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the aggrieved region.
