The southwest monsoon has strengthened its presence across Madhya Pradesh, bringing widespread rainfall after a delayed arrival. Several districts have recorded moderate to heavy showers, providing much-needed relief from the summer heat and improving water availability for agriculture. However, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of thunderstorms, lightning, and localized flooding in vulnerable areas over the coming days.
State authorities have urged residents to remain cautious, avoid waterlogged roads, and follow official weather advisories. The timely rains are expected to boost kharif crop sowing while enhancing reservoir and groundwater levels.
