The door-to-door enumeration phase for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026 of electoral rolls in Telangana concludes today following multiple deadline extensions. State electoral officials noted that while overall digitisation across Telangana has reached over 78%, Hyderabad lags significantly with a digitisation rate of just 58.6%. Urban areas across the capital city face major verification hurdles due to high population mobility, leaving more than 18.7 lakh electors classified under the Absent, Shifted, or Dead (ASD) categories. Draft electoral rolls will be officially published on August 17.
