The Karnataka government has approved the ‘Gramanubhava’ program, sending over two lakh urban students from Bengaluru and surrounding areas to rural farms. Spanning September to December, this unique two-day rural stay initiative aims to bridge the urban-rural divide. Students will interact directly with local farmers, learn about agriculture, water conservation, organic waste management, and traditional crafts.
With a budget of Rs 13.7 crore, this bold move seeks to move education beyond textbooks. Authorities hope that giving students first-hand exposure to rural livelihoods will foster deeper appreciation for agricultural communities.
