Medchal Malkajgiri District: As part of the 5th day of the ‘Alive Arrive’ programme aimed at saving lives during emergency situations, a special awareness session on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) was conducted today at the Traffic Alwal Police Station premises.

The programme was attended by Traffic Trimulgherry Division ACP Sri G. Shankar Raju, Traffic Alwal Inspector Sri Pawan Kumar Reddy, along with Dr. Sandeep from Gandhi Hospital. Traffic personnel, SHO Prashant, Law & Order police staff, 108 ambulance drivers, and auto drivers participated in large numbers.

During the session, a live CPR demonstration and hands-on training were provided to around 15 ambulance drivers. Speaking on the occasion, doctors explained that the first few minutes during cardiac emergencies, often referred to as the “Golden Hour,” are crucial, and timely CPR can significantly increase the chances of saving a life.

They further explained that proper chest compressions help maintain blood circulation to the brain and other vital organs until medical help arrives. It was also highlighted that police personnel and ambulance drivers, as first responders, play a vital role in emergency situations and hence must be equipped with basic life-saving skills.

Later, participants were given practical training and their doubts were clarified. They expressed that this training would greatly help them perform their duties more effectively.

The programme strongly conveyed the message of saving lives through immediate response during emergencies.
