Puducherry Chief Minister N. Rangasamy has officially approached the Union Petroleum Minister, urgently requesting the continuation of a crucial special diesel supply arrangement for the region’s fishing community. Highlighting the severe economic hardship caused by currently inflated fuel prices, the Chief Minister is strongly urging the Central Government to either provide diesel to registered fishermen at standard retail-outlet rates or introduce a dedicated special subsidy.
This essential intervention is sought to protect the vital livelihood of the coastal fishing community, which heavily depends on affordable fuel for their daily operations.
