The Goa Congress has opposed the scheduled inauguration of the new Captain of Ports terminal, urging the Central Government to postpone the event. Party leaders argued that key maritime governance issues should be addressed before proceeding with the inauguration and called for greater consultation on the state’s port administration.

The party also reiterated its demand for establishing the Goa Maritime Board headquarters under the provisions of the Indian Ports Act. According to Congress leaders, this move would strengthen maritime governance, improve port management, and ensure that Goa’s long-term interests in the coastal and shipping sectors are effectively represented.
