Goa witnessed exceptionally heavy monsoon rainfall, recording an average of 57.1 mm in just 24 hours, which is 82% above the normal daily average. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that moderate to heavy rainfall will continue across the state until the end of June.
Authorities have advised residents and tourists to remain cautious, avoid waterlogged areas, and stay away from rough sea conditions. The persistent rainfall is expected to improve water reservoirs but may also lead to localized flooding, traffic disruptions, and delays in daily activities across several parts of Goa.
