Medchal Malkajgiri, August 7: As per the directions of Malkajgiri Police Commissioner B. Sumathi IPS, a Sahachari coordination meeting was held on Friday at PVR Function Hall as part of the ‘Sahachari’ initiative. The programme was chaired by Begumpet ACP Gopalakrishna murthy, and organised under the supervision of Alwal SHO Prashanth.
Around 130 Sahachari members participated in the programme held within the limits of Alwal Police Station.
The participants were given detailed awareness on various issues including laws related to women and child protection, policing procedures, prevention of human trafficking, cyber crime prevention, and the ‘Nenu Saitham 2.0’ programme.
Women Safety Wing DCP Usha Rani attended the programme as the chief guest and highlighted the importance of public participation in ensuring the safety of women and children. She advised citizens to stay aware of safety-related issues and immediately inform the police about any suspicious developments.
Begumpet ACP Gopalakrishna Murthy stated that community participation is essential for the protection of women and children. He urged people to remain vigilant about human trafficking and cyber crimes and share related information with the police without delay.
He further stated that Sahachari members have a key role in creating awareness among the public about laws and strengthening confidence in safety measures.
The programme was attended by Begumpet Women Police Station Inspector Sujitha, Project Officer Sudhakar, Sahachari Coordinator Praveen, UPHC Doctor Srikanth, CDEW members, Bharosa representatives, SHE Teams, Anti Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) members, Family Counsellor Nalini, SIs and police personnel.
