Alwal, September 28: A family dispute turned fatal in Peddi Pharma Reddy Colony, Macha Bollaram, under the Alwal Police Station limits of the Malkajgiri Commissionerate, where 52-year-old Srinivas died after sustaining severe injuries in an alleged axe assault.
Police said differences had persisted between family members for some time, resulting in frequent arguments.
On Sunday night, a fresh quarrel reportedly escalated, following which Ramadevi and her two children allegedly assaulted him with an axe.
He suffered critical injuries and died at the spot.
After receiving the information, Alwal police reached the location and examined the scene. Evidence linked to the incident was collected and a case was registered.
Investigators are looking into whether the domestic dispute was the sole trigger or if any other issue contributed to the killing.
Ramadevi, her son Nikhil and daughter have been taken into custody and are being questioned in connection with the case.
